The growing COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra – 2,84,281 cases as on July 17, has prompted the Mumbai University (MU) (estd. 1857) to increase the online component for admission process to undergraduate degree colleges for the academic year 2020-21.  With the state’s higher secondary certificate exam results announced Thursday July 16, approximately two lakh plus students are expected to seek admissions in the state’s 823 colleges affiliated to the university.

Apart from the online registration on the university’s website – http://mum.digitaluniversity.ac/ the university has also digitised document verification and fee payment processes this year. Until last year, students registered online but had to physically visit colleges to complete the admission process.

While the university’s detailed schedule of final admission dates and a link for the online admissions process is expected in over the next 2-3 days, students seeking admissions to bachelor degrees in the arts, commerce and science as well as university approved self-financed courses like bachelor of mass media (BMM) etc. can log in and create their profile on the above university provided link.

MU introduced pre-admission online enrollment since 2011 itself but this is the first year when admissions to second and third year degree colleges will also be done online.
