Officials announced on Wednesday that 9th-grade students from 30 Zilla Parishad schools in Nagpur, Maharashtra, will receive entrepreneurship skills training through a special program this year. The Entrepreneurial Mindset Development Program (EMDP) is being launched by Zilla Parishad Nagpur in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) and its partner Udhyam Learning Foundation.
The initiative aims to enhance the capacity of trainers by providing them with tools and techniques necessary for implementing the EMDP across the district. District Education Officer Ravindra Katolkar emphasized the significance of cultivating an entrepreneurial culture at the grassroots level, stating that the EMDP will benefit both students and teachers by fostering critical thinking skills essential for the future.
The EMDP, as described by Udhyam Learning Foundation CEO Mekin Maheshwari, focuses on equipping students with the mindset and skills required to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. Highlighting the impact of their efforts, GAME president Ketul Acharya mentioned their contributions over the past five years in interventions that have supported India’s journey towards job creation and the establishment of a conducive ecosystem to promote an entrepreneurial mindset nationwide.
