Devyani Jaipuria Pro vice-chairperson, DPS Sector 45, Gurgaon Devyani Jaipuria is pro vice-chairperson of Delhi Public School, Jaipur, DPS Sector 45, Gurgaon and DPS International, Gurgaon. NEP 2020 mandates a complete overhaul of India’s primary-secondary education system. I am looking forward to the new NCFSE and NCF as a whole to provide guidelines to India’s 1.5 million schools on how to put the NEP 2020 vision into practice. Especially how to improve and integrate contemporary pedagogies into our Indian curriculums. Last October, the education ministry released the NCF for Foundational Stage for early childhood education — until class III. I am expecting the new NCFSE for primary-secondary education to provide all schools direction to build on children’s foundational literacy and numeracy and smoothly integrate the new 5+3+3+4 academic system. I am also looking forward to the new curriculum framework recommending ways and means to schools to integrate community service and outreach into their curriculums. NEP 2020 mandates vocational education and training (VET) in primary-secondary schools. I hope the new NCFSE will provide clear guidelines on how to introduce skills development courses in primary and secondary classes. Facebook Twitter LinkedIn WhatsApp
