Overview

Neuerth Kids offers a combination of child care and kindergarten education services. The preschool’s distinguishing feature is its ‘Neuerth Kids Creative Curriculum’ – a theme-based curriculum which integrates creativity and academics to encourage curiosity and joy of learning. All teaching-learning activities are structured to help children grow, develop and discover their full potential in a stimulating learning environment.

Established in 2001, Neuerth Kids Benson Town is owned and managed by Neuerth Education Services Private Limited which also runs three preschools under the same brand name in Bangalore and one in Hubli.

Campus

Neuerth boasts spacious, well ventilated and cheerful classrooms. The furniture/ equipment for play and learning is sturdy, comfortable and child-friendly. The shelves are of student height and tables and chairs are low and comfortable. The school claims that its equipment, furniture, learning aids and the toys are internationally sourced and adhere to all quality and safety requirements.

The outdoor play area includes sand pit, rope ladders, slides, hollow tunnel, jungle gym, tricycles, ball pool etc.

Academics

The school offers the following programs:

Playgroup and Prekindergarten

Children study twelve different themes in the academic year — fun with myself, fun with animals, water, nature, community, sky, insects, sunshine, raindrops, food I eat, fun with safety, celebrations and festivals, seasons and special events which are based on context specific/ current events.

According to a school spokesperson this program helps children learn how to identify and pronounce the English alphabets and count the numbers up to 9, recognize colors, identify shapes such as circle, square, triangle, star, heart, oval and rectangle. Children are also encouraged to participate in music, drama and other activities. They also learn to identify the sounds of different musical instruments, listen to stories and enact them. Puppet play and age-appropriate science experiments are also part of the curriculum.

Children are also actively encouraged to use the gym, slides, sand pits and tricycles.

Kindergarten 1 and 2

In Kindergarten 1 and 2 more time is spent on thinking, music, art and craft and drama. The activities in both KG classes are structured into specific time tables.

In these classes children learn through themes – all about myself, all about animals, all about the sand and sea, about food and fitness, about nature, community, sky and space.

Here children learn to start writing alphabets and numbers learnt in pre-kindergarten classes and on completion of kindergarten 2 are able to read and write numbers up to 100 and add one digit numbers. According to a school spokesperson, children who complete kindergarten 2 “would have learnt the sounds of alphabets and acquired at least 500 words in English and are able to read big books by themselves and write simple sentences in English”.
