Overview

Founded in 1986, NMAMIT Institute of Technology, Udupi is affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The institute is accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) and all its programmes are accredited by theNational Board for Accreditation. NMAMIT’s aims to develop the institute as a Centre of Excellence by imparting quality education to generate competent, skilled and humane manpower to face emerging scientific, technological, managerial and social challenges with credibility, integrity, ethics and social concern.

Campus

The central library features over 60,000 volumes and subscribes to over 250 general and technical journals (both foreign and Indian). The library offers digitised services with CD-ROM stations. The library also offers digital library facilities with subscription to a large number of e-journals through INDEST and DELNET. The NMAMIT campus hosts computer centre, ATM facility, a post office and cafeterias. Sports facilities include indoor stadium with 14000 sq.ft. play area and a fully equipped gym.

In recognition of excellence in education and service to the community in 2008, the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, conferred the institute the status of a Deemed University. The institute is certified to the ISO 9001-2008 standards for quality education by DEKRA, Netherlands. The institution is also accredited by the International Accreditation Organization (IAO).

Accommodation

The institute provides separate hostels for boys and girls. All rooms are equipped with a cot, cupboard, study table and a chair. Every hostel offers solar heated facility, generators, common telephone, TV room, reading room/library, visitorsparlour, water coolers etc. The hostels also have facilities for indoor and outdoor games.
