In Noida Extension, a 25-year-old man from the girl’s neighborhood allegedly raped a class 12 student currently taking board exams while she was en route to her tuition, as reported by police officials on Wednesday.
The accused, who had been evading arrest since the incident on February 29, was apprehended from the Shahberi furniture market on Wednesday.
The girl’s father, in his police complaint, stated, “My daughter was heading to a tuition class when the accused lured her into a conversation. Subsequently, he administered an intoxicating substance, rendering her unconscious, and took her to a flat where he sexually assaulted her.”
The accused also recorded objectionable videos and took pictures of the girl, threatening to circulate them on the internet if she disclosed the incident, the father alleged.
Despite the ongoing board examinations, the traumatized girl eventually confided in her mother about the incident. The local Bisrakh police station received information on Tuesday, leading to the prompt filing of an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rape, kidnapping, administering poison with intent, and criminal intimidation. Charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have also been invoked.
“Accused Usman Saifi was apprehended from the furniture market in Shahberi area of Noida Extension on Wednesday after a tip-off,” the police spokesperson stated, noting that further legal proceedings in the case are underway.
