Oxford Global youth summit 2025 hosted at Amity Dubai

The first Oxford Global Academic Summit for Young Leaders (ASYL-2025), organised by the Amity Educational Resource Centre (AERC), was held from 2nd to 6th June at Amity University Dubai. The international event brought together 20 students and 4 academic mentors from India, the UK, the UAE, Lithuania, and Indonesia for a week of interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.

In partnership with Oxford Global, the summit focused on three key academic streams: Psychology (Mental Health and Wellbeing), Economics, and Artificial Intelligence. Students attended expert-led sessions and presented their research papers, demonstrating strong critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills.

Dr Joana Perrone, Director of Oxford Global and a renowned expert on gender issues in Brazil, led sessions that inspired participants with her experience in over 25 Model UN conferences. The summit also included engaging workshops on AI fundamentals, labour economics, and mental health.

Award Highlights:

  • Psychology: Angela Lin (Oxford International College, UK) won Best Essay; Yashika Agarwal (AIS Lucknow VYC) won Best Presentation.

  • Economics: Best Essay awards went to Rehaan Kapoor (AIS Saket), Daksha Sibin (Amity Private School, Sharjah), and Maheer Singh (AIS Saket). Best Presentation awards were given to Yukti Dahiya (AIS Pushp Vihar, Delhi) and Paridhi Kaushal (AIS Gurugram, Sector-46).

  • Artificial Intelligence: Anuradha Arora (AIS V-1) and Abhishek Tyagi (AIS Noida) won Best Essay; Adhiraj Chauhan (AIS Pushp Vihar) and Vidhushi Mathur (AIS Noida) won Best Presentation.

The Grand Closing Ceremony featured an address by H.E. Mr Satish Kumar Sivan, consul general of India in Dubai. An alumni meet was also held, offering past students a chance to inspire the current batch with their experiences.

Dr Amita Chauhan, chairperson, Amity Group of Schools, said, “This summit reflects Amity’s commitment to nurturing global citizens. It was a celebration of intellect, leadership, and collaboration.”

The programme was led by Ms Jyoti Arora, director – AERC, with support from escort faculty Ms Roli Tripathi (principal, AIS VYC Lucknow) and Ms Sanyukta Priya (headmistress, AIS Noida).

In addition to academic sessions, students visited notable sites in Dubai including the Burj Khalifa, Museum of the Future, Atlantis Aquarium, and Orbital Space Station Hope, making the summit a truly enriching and memorable experience.
