Podar International School is a co-educational day school authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme and Diploma Programme. The School is also licensed to provide the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) and A levels from the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).
It is run under the aegis of Podar Educational Complex which is managed by Anandilal and Ganesh Podar Society established in 1927. It was founded on April 6, 2004 with a mission to provide opportunities through a stimulating, safe and supportive environment for attaining personal mastery and team spirit through collaborative learning. The school strives to create an environment wherein the students acquire not only knowledge, understanding and skills necessary for success but also develop strong moral values, especially appreciation and respect of different cultures and religions and become proactive and responsible world citizens. The school has been awarded for eINDIA 2011 in “Best Use of Technology for Teaching/Learning Practice in Schools”.
Podar International School has well-furnished classrooms with interactive white boards, projectors and computers, an auditorium, a well-stocked library, science and robotics labs and a cafeteria.
Sports facilities include a cricket ground, football ground and basketball court. Other co-curricular facilities include an art room, melody zone, indoor game zone and costume room.
The school also offers a bus service to students.
Podar International School is affiliated with the Cambridge Assessment International Examinations, UK (CAIE) and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). At the IB–PYP (primary school from nursery to kindergarten) level, the emphasis is on developing the child’s cognitive and motor skills. In classes I-V, students are exposed to a vibrant world of learning as they think independently and explore new concepts and accept greater challenges. It enables students to explore transdisciplinary themes through the lines of inquiry. At the middle school level (class VI-X), the transition from childhood to adolescence is facilitated by a comprehensive, value- added education. The academic challenges become the focus as the students start preparing for the achievement tests, checkpoint and IGCSE exams. At the IB diploma level (class XI and XII), students become more focused through their career choices and the emphasis is on equipping students for higher education. In these final years of schooling, students are given an opportunity to exhibit their leadership qualities and emerge as responsible citizens of the world.
Extracurriculars: At Podar, the goal is for the students to excel both in and outside the classroom. Therefore, extensive emphasis is given to sports and extra-curricular activities. Specialized and experienced coaches are deployed in a wide spectrum of sporting disciplines. The school’s teams participate and excel in various inter school sports tournaments. An inter-Podar sports tournament is also organized in which students from the different Podar schools compete against each other in sports such as basketball, football, cricket, etc.

To seek admission into Podar International School, prospective applicants must visit the school’s official website and fill an online registration form. The academic counsellor will then send an email helping applicants fix an appointment for a detailed info session. This info session will help students and parents gain clarity on all school aspects and provide a school tour.
PIS has an age policy which it follows diligently for all admission applications. While applying for grade I the child must have completed 6 years by April. After all the admission criteria are met along with the submission of the verified documents, applicants shall receive a confirmation email regarding the admissions status.
The provisional admission can be secured only after paying the required fee. The provisional admission becomes a confirmed admission after the student submits the original leaving certificate of the previous school stating that the student has passed and is promoted to the next grade. The final progress report of the student’s current grade is also required to be submitted.
Podar International School has been recognized amongst the Top 10 International Schools in Mumbai by the Hindustan Times Annual Mumbai School Survey 2019 and Times School Survey 2019.
The school bagged the top two positions at the “national round” for the Makex International Robotics Championship 2019.
