Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday hailed the first convocation of AIIMS-Gorakhpur as a significant milestone in health education, calling it a “golden achievement” for the “new Uttar Pradesh of a new India”.
President Droupadi Murmu presided over the historic convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Gorakhpur, later in the day. She also attended the 11th convocation of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly as chief guest.
In a post on X, Adityanath expressed pride in being part of the momentous occasion, noting that AIIMS-Gorakhpur, established under the guidance of prime minister Narendra Modi, is emerging as a premier centre for medical education and services in North India.
Addressing the IVRI convocation in Bareilly, the chief minister described the event as an “inspiring moment” for scholars engaged in rural development, cow conservation, and organic research, stating it sets them on a path of national service.
Both events underscore the growing emphasis on specialised education and research as drivers of development in the state.
