Punjab: Board postpones class 10, 12 exams by a month

The Punjab School Education Board on Monday, March 15 asked schools to postpone final exams for classes 10 and 12 by about a month due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state. As per a statement issued by the PSEB, the exams of class 10 will now start from May 4 instead of April 9 while for class 12, the exams will start from April 20 instead of March 22.

The exams for both classes 10 and 12 will end on May 24.

The compartment and re-appear exams have also been postponed, said Janak Raj Mehrok PSEB Controller (exams). He added that the three-hour exams will start at 10 am and 2 pm respectively.

“All the DEO’s, Principals, Heads of schools, have been informed about the change in examination schedule. The examination of Class V & VIII will be conducted as per schedule (March 16 and March 22, respectively). Only Matric and +2 class’s Examinations are re-schedule with effect from April 20 and May 4, 2021,” Mehrok said.
