Established in 1992, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RGIT), Mumbai offers the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) undergraduate course in five disciplines. The college is run by the Manjara Charitable Trust and is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. In 2006, the institute started offering Master of Management Studies (MMS/MBA) programme. RGIT provides high quality engineering and management education in Mumbai.
RGIT campus hosts well-ventilated classrooms and well-stocked library. The campus also houses a medical centre, an internet browsing centre, a temple and a fitness center.

The admission procedure is as per the rules and regulations laid down by the D.T.E. (Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State). Admission is made strictly on the basis of inter merit and as per procedures mentioned in the information brochure MHTCET 2011 issued by Directorate of Technical Education. Fees - Minimum tuition fee is Rs. 72, 897 and maximum fee is Rs. 1, 00, 935.
