RBSE exam 2020 not starting from April 16: Rajasthan Edu Minister

Due to the 21-day lockdown because of the on-going public health emergency due to coronavirus pandemic, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has decided to postpone all the board exams for classes 5, 8, 10 and 12.

Recently several reports were published on social media platforms claiming that the Rajasthan board exams will be held held by from April 16, 2020, after the lockdown is lifted. However, the board did not issue any official notification regarding the same, which led to a lot of confusion and concern among the students and their parents.

The state Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra has issued a clarification saying that the reports about exams being held on April 16 is fake news. He also added that currently no dates have been finalised for pending papers of RBSE 5th, 8th, 10th and 12th board exams. He also denied that any such exam dates have been decided by the Boards or DIET (District Institute of Education and Training).

According to the estimates shared by BSER, Ajmer, a total of 20.50 lakh students will be appearing for the 10th and 12th class board examinations. While around 4,29,89 students have registered for Rajasthan Board Vocational Examination; 6972 students will be appearing for Rajasthan Praveshika exam and 3847 students are appearing for Varishtha Upadhyay examination.
