Overview

RS Krishnan Higher Secondary School, Kailasapuram, Trichy is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Founded in 1964 by BHEL to cater to the educational needs of its employees’ children, RS Krishnan Higher Secondary School later opened admissions for non-BHEL students too. Originally called Boiler Plant Higher Secondary School the school was later renamed as RS Krishnan Higher Secondary School, in memory of the first executive director of BHEL. In 2000, the school management introduced the Tamil Nadu State Board curriculum as an alternate syllabus for classes XI and XII.

The school was run by the Jesuit order Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel until 2006 after which the school’s management went in the hands of Singapore-based Global Indian Education Foundation and in 2011, KKR’s Gowtham Educational Institutions took over the school’s management.

Campus

The school campus is spread across the BHEL Township in five separate campuses – the A sector primary school houses kindergarten to class I (sections A, B and C), the E sector primary school houses classes II to V (sections A, B and C), the B sector primary school houses classes KG I to class V, (sections D, E and F), the junior school in B sector housing classes VI to VIII (sections A to F) and the main school also in B sector, houses classes IX to XII. The campus facilities include spacious classrooms, library, science and computer labs, indoor games room, multipurpose halls and playgrounds.

Academics

The school offers education from kindergarten to class XII. From class I to XII, the school offers CBSE curriculum and alternately in classes XI and XII the school offers the curriculum prescribed by the Tamil Nadu State Board.

Achievement
