Overview

Sherwood Convent School, DLF City II, Gurgaon is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Promoted in 1993 by Squadron Leader ML Malik (Retd) Ex-Registrar Sainik School, the school offers education from nursery through class XII. The school’s motto is “Learn to Rise”.

The school’s first batch of class X students appeared for the board exams in 1996 and it was upgraded to a senior secondary school in 2004.

Campus

The school campus hosts well ventilated classrooms, a well stocked library, well equipped labs for physics, chemistry and biology, an auditorium, an activity area and an infirmary. The sports infrastructure includes basketball court, football field, volleyball court, indoor games room, splash pool and a vast playground.

Academics

The school’s curriculum is designed to promote a comprehensive educational programme which equips the students with thorough knowledge and strong values. The syllabus for each class is meticulously planned to ensure that students possess the knowledge of basic concepts of all subjects. Students are also given worksheets designed by teachers to further strengthen their knowledge of the subject. Lessons are imparted through visual aids such as smart boards and LCD projectors. The school also aims to instill confidence in students to face their board examination effectively.

The school’s curriculum includes subjects ranging from English, Hindi, Sanskrit, computers, physical education, music and art. The curriculum for classes II to VII includes general knowledge and moral science too.

Admission

Parents must first register their wards. Candidates are admitted on the basis of assessment and interview scores. Admitted candidates are required to submit Transfer Certificate from a recognised institution along with the admission form:

For nursery, LKG and UKG, candidates are granted admission on the basis of interview only. The age criteria for admission as on April 1 is as follows:

Nursery – 3.5 years

Prep – 4.5 years
