Promoted in 1998 by Sri Srisha Educational and Charitable Trust founded by Dr. Manimekalai Mohan, Shree Sarasswathi Vidhyaah Mandheer (SSVM) School, Mettupalayam, Coimbatore (is the flagship institution of SSVM Group of Institutions that provides three K-12 and two K-10 institutions in Coimbatore and Mettupalayam (Tamil Nadu).

Shree Sarasswathi Vidhyaah Mandheer (SSVM) School, Mettupalayam, Coimbatore affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, a day-cum-residential school offers high-quality education to its 2,207 students from Pre-KG through class XII. The school also offers open schooling facility of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

Committed to its vision of providing quality education for all, the school offers free-of-charge education to the differently-abled children through Athma Seva – its charitable unit at Alangombu, Mettupalayam.

Campus

SSVM’s 20-acre aesthetically designed campus in Mettupalayam (Coimbatore) hosts state-of-the-art infrastructure for academics, sports and co-curricular education and a well-appointed residential facility. 

The school’s 96 classrooms are equipped with ICT teaching-learning facilities and the auditorium has a seating capacity of 1500. Other facilities include a well-stocked library, labs for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Language, Robotics and Digital Printing, 3 conference halls and an amphitheatre.

Sports infrastructure includes a swimming pool, archery, skating, football and hockey ground, rifle-shooting range, horse-riding stables and well-maintained courts for basketball, throwball, volleyball, among others facilities.

Academics

Affiliated with CBSE, the school prepares students for the AISSE (class X) and AISSCE (class XII) exams of the national education board. SSVMS teachers follow the experiential learning, research and project based learning and blended learning approaches to ensure a 21st century learning experience for students.

The school also offers SSVM Prepversity – an initiative to provide students a headstart in their career and college placements through integrated coaching for NEET/IIT-JEE, SAT, NATA, CPT. SSVM institutions are engaged with the neighbouring community through several initiatives:

• Athma Seva – A charitable organisation for special and differently-abled children that imparts free education in a congenial learning environment. Students of Athma Seva are even placed in mainstream schools for their higher education. For children above 14 years, suitable skill training is provided with parents’ consent. Many are also employed at SSVM schools.
• Republic Day Camp – BEST CADETS from SSVM. The students of SSVM received NCC All India Best Cadet Award in the Junior Air-wing category from the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of Republic Day 2018 & 2020 respectively. The school also bagged a Silver medal at state level and a Gold medal in Flag area and group rally in 2019. Every year, SSVM students bag the Best Cadet Award and participate in several camps.
• Yuva Foundation – SSVM in association with Yuva Foundation engages in cloth donation to the needy, planting and growing trees by creating awareness regularly through various campaigns for the welfare of the
• Planet Protector Academy – A Canada registered charity based in Vancouver, it offers a unique digital classroom-based programme where students of SSVM, Mettupalayam become ‘apprentice’ Planet Protectors. They go home on ‘Super Hero Missions’ to change their families’ approach towards our planet protection. It aims to empower everyone in the family and society as responsible planet protectors by becoming Zero Heroes (A Zero Waste Management project).
• Marathon ISA Run – A full Society Marathon Race was organised by SSVM Institutions in Coimbatore. The purpose was to reiterate the duty of every citizen to help fellow human beings and be more socially responsible at an individual level.
