Shriram Millennium School GGN dedicates Founder’s Day to Mahatma

November 29, 2019

The Shriram Millennium School, Gurugram celebrated their second Founder’s Day by paying a tribute to the Father of the Nation, commemorating his 150th birth anniversary. On the occasion students shed light on the life of Mahatma Gandhi and his principles of non-violence, truth and forgiveness.

Actions and Principles of the Mahatma are inspirational and have been instrumental in motivating the children of today. Mahatma through his actions taught the lessons of sensitivity, integrity, striving for excellence in one’s life and taking Pride in one’s Heritage. People mattered to him and he was a man of his words. He did spend most of his life excelling in what he truly believed in, Ahimsa & Satyagrah. In his quest to never forget his roots and take pride in one’s own Heritage, he spearheaded the Khadi & Salt movements. Students of The Shriram Millennium Schools, are familiarized with these values, not as something that they must learn but as something they must feel.

The students put together a wonderful show depicting the life of Gandhi and his principles, promising to imbibe the true spirit of the Mahatma. They inspired the audience with messages from the life of Bapu and the relevance of his teachings in today’s scenario. All the learning over the year about the contributions Gandhi made to India’s freedom struggle and the innumerable lessons of life that he left behind were aptly presented. The orchestra and choir, along with the captivating dance performances had everyone applauding and enjoying the special day.

Uttara Singh, Director-Principal, The Shriram Millennium School said, “Gandhi Ji is a source of inspiration for the world and we want our students to be proud Indian like him.  To make them successful in every sphere of life, we need to inculcate spiritual and moral values in our students. Through the “Gandhi Ek Ehsaas” program, we strive to highlight among our students the dimension of his teachings and values.

Anuradha Gupta, Principal, The Shriram Millennium School Gurugram said, “Gandhi said & I quote, the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. The man, taught us how in a gentle way we can shake the world. This continues to inspire us as we apply these values in our daily life even today. It gives me pride in saying that the core values of our school are aligned with the teachings of Mahatma. Our students are living Mahatma through various aspects, that they are being taught each day and are proving to be harbingers of peace & harmony in today’s troubled times.”

The event was high on enthusiasm promoting the need of the hour being united and forgetting all differences. We are ONE, we are INDIA where loving, respecting, caring and sharing with one another is of paramount importance.
