Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, Pune is ready to host its annual flagship event Fest-O-Comm 2016. With the theme, “Boombox”, the event promises to be an academic, cultural and sports extravaganza. The two day celebration will commence on February 10, 2016.
The 2016 edition of Fest-O-Comm will witness Manoj Bajpayee, the renowned Hindi cinema actor and theatre personality add fervor to the festivities with his presence. The actor, who is the recipient of two national film awards and two filmfare awards, in an illustrious career spanning a little over twenty years, shall be inaugurating the gala. On the second day, progressive rock band Paradigm Shift and singer Prateek Kuhad will add to the verve and spice up the musical quotient of the event with their performances.
Year after year, Fest-O-Comm brings in students from over 100 colleges nationwide and in the past, has witnessed a footfall of over 4000 students from popular B-schools and media colleges across the country. In its previous editions, Fest-O-Comm has been graced by the presence of media and entertainment industry stalwarts such as Madhur Bhandarkar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Oberoi, who have added sparkle to the event.
SIMC is proud to announce the association of global soft drink giant Coca Cola as its associate sponsor for the academic events to be conducted at the festival. In addition to an interesting case study, the students participating in Fest-O-Comm will get an opportunity to witness a highly anticipated quiz contest promoted by the multinational brand. Online music streaming service Guvera, would be the in-kind sponsor for the event.
This year, students will get an opportunity to showcase their creative skills in events such as Take-24. Box Cricket is a game that will enthrall all sports enthusiasts. For those who swear by their melodies, Consonance – a musical night will prove to be especially soulful. Technical acumen will be put to test in events such as Decrypt that will challenge fundamentals and encourage students to think innovatively. The dance competition, Footloose will see the best teams competing to prove their mettle whereas the fashion show competition SIMCouture will redefine panache on stage.
Currently in its silver jubilee year, SIMC is one of the premier pure-play media schools in the country that offers a wide range of courses such as MA (MC) and MBA (CM). Through a plethora of projects, industry interactions and erudite faculty, SIMC provides its students the necessary skill sets to develop holistically.
