To celebrate Children’s Day for Government School students, Colours of Life and LXL Ideas Pvt Ltd have teamed up, supported by Embassy Group, to provide their annual two-day fun-filled extravaganza, Sinchana. This year’s theme ‘Saving Water,’ to encourage students to be more mindful of managing water resources.
Now in its fourth year, Sinchana aims at fostering talent through an inter-school competition, with participation from over 2000 underprivileged students from 14 Government Schools and a children’s home. The event hosts exciting categories for competition, ranging from academic (such as essay-writing, debate, and public speaking) to holistic activities (including mehndi design, drawing, dance, and singing).
Students were welcomed to Ambedkar Bhavan Auditorium where they performed with enthusiasm and skill. Jitu Virwani, Chairman and Managing Director of Embassy Group, inaugurated the event by encouraging the students to actively play a role in conserving water.
Simran Chandok, Trustee, Colours of Life stated, “Sinchana is an exciting opportunity for students to participate, perform, learn, be challenged and inspired, have fun and above all grow in confidence as individuals. The annual event is an important part of our wider work helping government schools transform themselves into institutes of excellence.”
Shaina Ganapathy, Head of Community Outreach, Embassy Group commented, “It has been a wonderful journey with Colours of Life as we’ve worked together to open new educational doors for Bangalore’s under-privileged students, and we commend them for initiating an event like Sinchana which enhances the learning of children in such a dynamic way. Our aim in the coming years is that even larger numbers of local students will have the opportunity to learn, grow and express themselves as we continue to support Sinchana.”
