Celebrating Maharashtra’s exceptional HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) results, which saw a state-wide pass percentage of 98.80%, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, a leading institution in Mumbai, rooted in an 84-year legacy, hosted a special Academic Excellence Felicitation Ceremony to honour high-achieving students from across India.
As part of its Somaiya Summer and Winter School Programme, the university recognised 73 students who scored 95% and above in their board examinations. Each was awarded a Certificate of Excellence, while trophies and certificates were also presented to their respective institutions. Among the honoured schools and colleges were Billabong High International School, Delhi Public School Nerul, Reliance Foundation School, Pace Junior Science College, and The Somaiya School.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Prof. V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice-Chancellor of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, and Lt. Gen. H. S. Khalon (Retd.), Secretary of Somaiya Vidyavihar.
Prof. Pillai praised the students’ dedication, remarking, “The achievements we celebrate today are not merely academic milestones—they are the seeds of a future filled with promise and purpose.”
Lt. Gen. Khalon commended both students and parents, adding, “This success is the result of years of perseverance and support. The journey ahead is filled with opportunity—make the most of it.”
The event underscored the university’s commitment to providing inclusive, experiential, and future-ready education. Through programmes like the Summer and Winter School, students gain exposure to academic disciplines, life skills, and campus life, preparing them for success in higher education and beyond
