Promoted in 1987 by the Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India, Somerville School, Noida is a coeducational day school affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school is an unaided Christian Minority Schoolmanaged by the Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India. The school’s medium of instruction is English.

Campus

Sited amidst sylvan surroundings, Somerville School hosts well lit spacious classrooms, an auditorium with a seating capacity for 700 people and audio video facilities, a well stocked library featuring over 22,000 books, 26 periodicals and volumes of encyclopaedias. It accommodates science laboratories equipped with teaching station at the front room,a mathematics laboratory, computer laboratories with 80 system, a psychology laboratory, an audio visual room, Indian vocal music room, a gymnasium, dance rooms and a canteen serving hygienic nutritious food.

The school also boasts a large playfield with basketball and volleyball courts and a cricket pitch, and an indoor badminton and table tennis court catering to sporting activities.

Academics

Affiliated with CBSE, Somerville School offers classes fromNursery through class XII. The curriculum for classes I to VIII is in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the NCERT. The school offers Hindi as Second Language, and Sanskrit as Third Language. It offers science, humanities and commerce streams at the higher secondary level.

Students are encouraged to participate in activities such asart and craft, dance, music, painting, poster making, drama, debate, quiz, elocution, recitation, spelling and creative writing as part of their co curricular activities.

The sporting activities include karate, table tennis, athletics, volleyball, football, cricket, throw ball, basketball, kho-kho, yoga and gymnastics.

Admission

Dates of interactive sessions of short listed candidates will be informed by courier. Due to the limited number of seats available, all applicants may not be accommodated. Hence only short listed candidates will be informed along with further detailed instructions by courier only.

To be noted:

Residence should be within 3 km radius. This school caters toNoida residents only. No form will be issued or received after the due date Class KG to V.
Parents to apply for admission to Classes KG to V in the month of February-March, against any vacancy in the said class. If the child is short listed, he/she will be called for an admission test in the month of March/April.

Class VI to IX Application forms are available only if there is a vacancy. Parents cab apply for admission to Classes VI to IX in the monthof February-March. If the child is shortlisted, he/she will be called for an admission test in English, Mathematics, Hindi and Science in the month of March/April.
