Established in 1959, Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE)is one of the eight constituent colleges of Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati (estb.1954). At present, the college offers 4-year B.Tech degree courses in six disciplines, and 2-year post-graduate courses with ten different specializations with a total intake of 220 in B.Tech programmes and 70 in post-graduate programmes. These courses are offered through its five departments – Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering. All the courses are approved by the New-Delhi based All India Council of Technical Education. The placement cell of the college arranges campus interviews for the outgoing students of B.Tech, and M.Tech. programmes. Reputed software companies and industrial units absorb SVCE students with attractive emoluments.
The college hosts aesthetically designed buildings housing lecture and seminar halls, drawing halls, administration and office accommodation, faculty rooms, laboratories and workshops for different departments. There are four hostel blocks - two for B.Tech. one for M.Tech, and one for women students. Other infrastructure facilities include a College Computer Centre, Departmental libraries, book-bank etc. Adequate facilities are available for games and sports activities including separate Gym for boys and girls. Facilities are also available for indoor games like shuttle badminton, table-tennis, chess, carroms, besides weightlifting and malkhamb. The renovated university stadium offers facilities for cricket, football, Hockey and athletics. There are also courts for badminton, basketball, volleyball, and tennis among others. Extra-curricular Activities Many international/national conferences, seminars, workshops and other Continuing Education Programmes have been organized by various departments. Each department has its own technical associations which regularly hold seminars, quizzes, guest lectures, group discussions, and educational tours. National level technical paper presentation contests for students (SIGMOID, CHATURYA etc.), the mega annual cultural event Rhapsody, NSS, NCC, Rotary club, and Environmental club, all function effectively to inculcate social commitment.

Max FeeA candidate seeking admission to the four-year degree course in engineering must have passed the intermediate examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects, or any other examination recognized by the Sri Venkateswara University as equivalent thereto. All the eligible applicants for admission into first year will have to qualify in the EAMCET Examination – Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Higher Education. Candidates are admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured at the entrance examination keeping in view the rules in force regarding the reservations of seats of various categories of candidates. 30 percent seats are reserved under the management quota in each branch. The seats are filled either on the basis of rankobtained inEAMCETorthe 10+2 qualifying examination score, which should not be less than 50 percent.
