Overview

Promoted in 2010 by Srisha Educational and Charitable Trust founded by Dr. Manimekalai Mohan, SSVM World School, Coimbatore is a part of the SSVM Group of Institutions that includes three K-12 and two K-10 institutions in Coimbatore and Mettupalayam (Tamil Nadu).

Affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, this co-ed day school offers rigorous academics supplemented with excellent sports and co-curricular education to its 2021 students from Pre-KG through class XII. SSVM World School, Coimbatore is also the first Cambridge Early Years Centre in South India. The Cambridge Early Years programme helps learners aged 3 to 6 years develop the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to make the best possible start in life. 

Committed to the SSVM mission of “imparting ultimate excellence in education that will groom students to become responsible global citizens, while retaining their Indian ethos”, the school also offers open schooling facility of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

Campus

Sprawled over 10 acres of well-manicured greenery, SSVM World School hosts state-of-the-art infrastructure to enable a 21st century learning experience for its students. Facilities include 80 ICT-enabled classrooms, a 1650-seat auditorium, a conference hall, a well-stocked library and well-equipped labs for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Language, Robotics and Digital Printing.

The school’s world class sports infrastructure includes a swimming pool, rifle-shooting range, an athletics track, well-maintained courts for badminton, basketball, throwball, handball and volleyball, a skating rink, and facilities for archery, martial arts, among others. Students are provided professional coaching in several sporting disciplines.

Academics

Affiliated with CBSE, the SSVM World School prepares students for the AISSE (class X) and AISSCE (class XII) school leaving exams of the national education board. The school follows experiential learning, research and project based learning and blended learning approaches to ensure a 21st century learning experience for students.

The school also has initiated to provide students a headstart in their career and college placements through its distinct coaching for NEET/IIT-JEE, SAT, NATA, CPT through SSVM Prepversity. The school accords high priority to the professional development of its teaching staff. Before the commencement of the academic year, minimum two capacity building programmes of the CBSE are conducted for teachers and domain-specific training by subject experts are conducted once a month.

• Republic Day Camp – BEST CADETS from SSVM, a student of SSVM received a silver medal in NCC All India Best Cadet Award in the Junior Air-wing category in 2019. A student bagged a gold medal in cultural event. Every year, SSVM students participate in several camps and win numerous awards and accolades.
• Yuva Foundation – SSVM in association with Yuva Foundation engages in cloth donation to the needy, planting and growing trees by creating awareness regularly through various campaigns for the welfare of the planet.
• Planet Protector Academy – A Canada registered charity based in Vancouver; it offers a unique digital classroom-based programme where students of SSVM World School become ‘apprentice’ Planet Protectors. They go home on ‘Super Hero Missions’ to change their families’ approach towards our planet protection. It aims to empower everyone in the family and society as responsible planet protectors by becoming Zero Heroes (A Zero Waste project).
• Marathon ISA Run – A full Society Marathon Race was organised by SSVM Institutions in Coimbatore. The purpose was to reiterate the duty of every citizen to help fellow human beings and be more socially responsible at an individual level.
