St. Michaels High School in Patna, Bihar was established in 1858 by the Congregation of Irish Christian Brothers; subsequently, the management of the school was passed on to the missionaries of the Society of Jesus of the American Chicago Province in 1968. Sited on the banks of the river Ganges, the school is one of the oldest missionary schools in east India. It is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and offers primary to senior secondary education.
Over the years, the school has groomed several batches of top rankers in premier engineering colleges such as the Indian Institute of Technology and BITS Pilani.
The school campus hosts contemporary facilities to support the academic and extracurricular pursuits of the students, including spacious classrooms, state-of-the-art language, science and computer laboratories, well stocked library featuring a huge collection of books on various subjects. St. Michaels School is affiliated with CBSE and prepares students for the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) and All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) at the end of class X and class XII respectively. The school strives to maintain a high teacher-student ratio to facilitate better learning.
