Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID), Pune is a constituent institute of the Symbiosis International University, established on November 10, 2006 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.
Symbiosis Institute of Design offers Bachelor’s of Design in Communication Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Textile Design and Fashion Communication.
SID placement cell facilitates and coordinates interaction between the industry and the students. Pre-placement as well as placement activities are arranged for eligible students.
SID is one of the largest design institutes in the country with a built up area of 2 acres. The campus hosts state-of-the-art design studios, workshops, IT infrastructure, rapid prototyping lab, well equipped classrooms, well stocked library, exhibition areas, a seminar hall, and a conference hall, among others.
The fully wi-fi enabled campus also houses an amphitheater, ultra modern auditorium and academic plaza for various activities including design shows.
Other facilities include canteen and cafeteria, sports, gymnasium, yoga, aerobics and a health care center for students.

LabsAdmission procedure for the first year for Indian students:
All Indian students are required to take the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), date of which will notified by the institute. Without a valid SET score, no candidate is entitled to seek admission to SID.
Registration can be done online through the SET official website.
For international students:
Admissions for international students are handled only by the Symbiosis International Office and not by through constituent institutes.

SID, Pune has been ranked among the top twenty fashion institutes in India by the EducationWorld C-fore Survey 2013.
The institute offers two hostels for female students 1.5 km away from the Viman Nagar campus. Dining hall, hot water supply, generator backup, round the clock security and housekeeping as well as laundry services are provided at the hostels. Boys hostel at Sakore Nagar is just 200 meters away from the campus. It is compulsory for all the first year female students to avail the hostel facility.
