Girls performed better with a pass percentage of 94.1 percent as against 87.7 percent in boys. Of the 6,754 schools, as many as 1,907 schools secured a 100 per cent pass percentage. Virudhunagar, Erode and Tiruppur districts clocked the top pass percentage.

Inorder to reduce stress and exam related anxiety, the education department did not announce the toppers for the second consecutive year. Schools have also been intimated to prevent publicising toppers. Over 9.07 lakh school students and private candidates appeared for the exams which began on March 1.
