Formerly known as Kangaroo Kids, Indiranagar, the preschool has been functional since 2001, changing its name to TaraEarlyLearningCenter in April 2012.
Tara Early Learning Center (TELC) has an academic partnership with the Bangalore-based the Teacher Foundation, a teacher training and resource organization which works with schools, principals, school-administrators, teachers and teacher educators in the areas of school development and improvement, teacher development, technology enabled training and support, design and production of teaching aids and classroom resources.
In co-operation with the Teacher Foundation, TELC has collaboratively designed a curriculum to help develop skills required for primary school. TELC’s curriculum follows a multi-dimensional integrated philosophy aimed at fostering holistic development within children.
The preschool is located in Indiranagar, Bangalore and boasts a sand pit, fitness studio, literacy studio and early role playing studio. Outdoor play equipment from Koochie Play and Little Tikes is also available for children. The campus also hosts an in-house indoor gym facility with equipment such as texture ladder, slide, rope climbing, rope ladder, sit & spin, tunnel and parachute play.
Transport facilities are offered. The preschool also offers lunch.
TELC offers the following programs:
Poco Tara: A unique Parent-Toddler program for toddlers of 10 months-2 years. This program is designed to unleash each toddler’s boundless creativity and energy to build a strong foundation of skills.
Mea Tara: This program has an inter-disciplinary approach which caters to the overall development of children. The curriculum focused on five areas of development namely social-emotional development, cognitive development, physical development, language development and creative development.
Vivo Tara: This program is designed to facilitate “action-based” knowledge in a fun filled environment and develop in children a variety of skills including language, physical, cognitive and social and emotional skills. This program is developmentally appropriate and involves visual, auditory and kinesthetic (touch based) activities
Admissions are open through the year. The minimum age for admission is 10 months.
