Tata Technologies, RVCE partner to launch CIIIT in Bengaluru

April 8, 2025

Tata Technologies and RV College of Engineering (RVCE), Bengaluru, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up the Center for Invention, Innovation, Incubation & Training (CIIIT) on the RVCE campus. The collaboration aims to prepare students for Industry 4.0 by providing practical training and hands-on experience in smart manufacturing technologies.

This is the first CIIIT of its kind in South India and represents a significant step in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry needs.

Tata Technologies will invest ₹50 crore into the initiative, while Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), which manages RVCE, will contribute ₹10 crore. The combined investment of ₹60 crore will be used to set up advanced labs, smart tools, and training infrastructure to give students real-world exposure.

CIIIT will offer practical, industry-aligned training through a mix of classroom sessions, e-learning, lab work, and real-time assessments. The center will support students, faculty, MSMEs, and start-ups by offering training programs, mentorship, and incubation opportunities. It will also run vocational programs for school dropouts and rural youth, expanding its impact beyond the campus.

Dr. K. N. Subramanya, Principal, RVCE, said, “CIIIT is designed to help students gain real-world skills, support rural youth with vocational training, and enable innovation through start-up support. It’s a space where education and industry meet.”

Dr. M. P. Shyam, President of RSST, added, “This partnership with Tata Technologies is a proud moment. It shows what’s possible when academia and industry work together to equip students for tomorrow’s jobs.”

Tata Technologies leaders Shri Sushil Kumar and Shri Pawan Bhageria highlighted the need for stronger industry-academia ties. “CIIIT will ensure students graduate with skills that make them job-ready and industry-relevant,” they said.

This initiative provides a strong model for future collaborations and will play a key role in shaping the future workforce in line with national goals like Make in India and Skill India.
