Telangana govt changes school timings amid heavy rains

July 25, 2023

July 25, As torrential rains continue to lash various parts of Telangana, the state government has taken a significant step to ensure the safety and well-being of students. In response to the prevailing weather conditions, the Telangana government has decided to change school timings across the state.

The decision to alter school timings comes as a precautionary measure to protect students from potential hazards caused by heavy downpours, waterlogging, and flooding in low-lying areas. The new timings, which were announced by the Education Department, will be in effect until further notice.

With immediate effect, all schools in the state will open one hour later than their usual schedule. This change aims to avoid any risks during the early morning commute when rains are usually more intense. By delaying the start time, students can travel to school during better visibility and reduced rainfall, ensuring their safety and minimizing potential disruptions to their education.

Furthermore, school authorities have been advised to remain vigilant and implement necessary precautions to safeguard students while on the school premises. The state government has also urged parents and guardians to keep a close eye on weather updates and exercise caution while allowing their children to commute to schools.

This decision reflects the Telangana government’s commitment to prioritize the safety and welfare of its citizens, especially its younger population, during adverse weather conditions. The government is closely monitoring the situation and will make further adjustments if required, in consultation with meteorological authorities.
