Overview

The Air Force School (TAFS), Subroto Park, New Delhi is a coeducational day cum residential school with boarding facilities for boys of classes VI to XII. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and is a member of the National Progressive Schools Conference (NPSC). The school has been received ISO certification in 2007.

Established in July 18, 1955 with the aim of providing comprehensive modern education to children of the Indian Air Force personnel, The Air Force School (TAFS) is run by IAF Educational & Cultural Society as an unaided school.

The mission of the school is "To develop its students into responsible, harmonious and integrated individuals through ever evolving curricular and co-curricular activities."

Campus

Sited on the Aravali ridge, the school campus spreads across 15 acres hosting a well stocked library, well equipped labs, book store, uniform store, medical infirmary, counseling room, art and craft department, dance and music department, AV room, Synidicate Bank branch and a canteen.

Sports infrastructure at TAFS includes facilities for cricket, badminton, basketball, foot ball, table tennis, volley ball and athletic events. The school plans to provide lawn tennis facilities soon. Besides its own sports field, the school also has access to the sports ground of Western Air Command, Air Force.

Academics

The school follows the CBSE curriculum and offers schooling from kindergarten through class XII. Apart from regular scholastic teaching, the school promotes a range of extracurricular activities such as excursions, camps, dramatics, debates, elocution, quiz and group learning. The school also promotes various clubs including debating club, interact club, heritage club, EVS club, quiz club, rasayan club and consumer awareness club.

Admission

The school’s entry level is UKG. For admission to UKG, the child should have completed 4 years as on March 31 of the year in which admission is sought. The school notifies the start of admission process by placing an advertisement in The Hindustan Times in December and by publishing the same on the school website www.tafssp.com. Registration forms are issued in last week of December by the CMC’s Office.

Admission for classes I to II for NAF (Non Air Force) category is considered in the month of March/April and subject to availability of seats.

Admission for class IX is conducted after the declaration of class X CBSE results and interested parents/candidates should contact the CMC’s office along with the copy of mark list. aAdmission to class XI is according to the new evaluation system introduced by CBSE.

Achievement

Accommodation

The school offers accommodation only to boy students (classes VI to XII) and presently has 72 boarders. Boarders are provided a bed, cupboard, a study unit and a chair.
