May 27, 2020

Amid the COVID-19, The Sports Gurukul Home Task Fitness Champ left its mark in style. The special online competition for families and children held on Facebook and Instagram saw over 2000 participants from 75+ schools across 30+ cities and influences over 2,00,000 people through the event. The initiative aimed at encouraging children’s involvement in household activities was a resounding success.
Speaking about the event, Mr. Paresh Kothari – Co-Founder of The Sports Gurukul, said, “Amid the COVID-19 scare, which has also led to most parents getting work-from-home directives from their respective offices, keeping children engaged with “constructive activities” has proven to be quite a task.
In today’s fast-paced, competition-laden, technology-driven world, all of us have to struggle hard to achieve the best in life. Parents give their children the best possible education but often miss out in teaching them how to be independent while also contributing in supporting and helping in the daily tasks at home. The Sports Gurukul Home Task Fitness Champ was a event created to achieve this objective.”
Executive Director at The Green Acres Academy , Chembur, Mr. Aditya Lohana said on the occasion that “ We believe that children can learn a lot from doing household chores. Doing chores helps children learn about what they need to do, to care for themselves, their home and family. They learn skills and stay Physically active and this way we achieve what we call the 3 point benefits of Fitness, Family Responsibility and Fun built all into 1 unique event by The Sports Gurukul.
Mr. Jay Shah, Co Founder of The Sports Gurukul Said on the occasion – The event was a astounding success since parents got along with their children and created some amazing videos and that way in the times of pandemic The Sport Gurukul was able to create a positive and constructive utilization of the current situation rather than increasing anxiety and fear amongst children and families. This event now becomes a annual event in our calender.
The event was from 1st of May till the 25th of May 2020 with each participant receiving a digital certificate and schools receiving letter of appreciation based on number of participants. A Event video featuring the best would be released shortly to celebrate the initiative.
