The Sports School organises Weekend Sports Camp to bring back normalcy in sports training

The Sports School, Bangalore, announced the commencement of the Weekend Sports Camp starting from October 3, 2020 onwards with new batches starting every week, every month. This weekend camp will offer training in sports like Football, Cricket, Basketball, and Tennis, and will be open to students and sports professionals. This camp will also witness mentorship by Rohan Bopanna, Robin Uthappa, and other professional experts. The idea to start this initiative is to get the students and professionals back into the field post lockdown. The Sports School Weekend camp will be organized only on Saturdays and Sundays keeping in mind the students’ online classes on weekdays.

The students/professionals willing to participate can enroll from the school website- thesportsschool.com or contact +91 858 787 8668. The camp will be conducted for beginners and intermediate level players, from the age group of 8 years and above. The training will be conducted in two sessions- morning and evening depending on the level of the participant and the chosen sport. This weekend camp will allow the participants to train under the guidance of expert coaches and mentors to learn and improve the skills and techniques of games. Apart from the training, the participants will also be able to avail of the international level infrastructure and facilities at The Sports School.

Dr. Sankar UV, Director of The Sports School, adds, ‘We have fully certified expert coaches and mentors, progression-based training, competitive training, video analysis, evaluation report, etc, that will challenge the players to improve and optimize the training time for better results. We are organizing these Camps by adhering to all COVID-19 protocol guidelines laid by the govt. like social distancing and training with small batch sizes. We have also mandated the temperature check, usage of masks, hand sanitizers, sanitization of sports equipment & gear, and strictly prohibited the sharing of Sporting Gears.”

He further adds, “The weekend camp will be an opportunity for the students and the professionals to nurture their passion without disrupting their regular classes and work. Our initiative is not just to train the students but to bring back the love for sports and set the normalcy in training post lockdown.’

The School boasts state-of-the-art sporting and academic infrastructures, including- FIFA Quality Pro Certified Artificial Football Turf; 7 ITF qualified Tennis courts with floodlights; 65 m International Standard Natural Cricket Ground with 6 indoor and 6 outdoor nets; and Two and a half FIBA standard Basketball courts with floodlights.
