In a bid to streamline education data and ensure transparency, the Department of Basic Education (DBE) in Uttar Pradesh has taken action against 65 schools and madrasas in Bareilly for their failure to upload crucial information on the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) portal.

The data, which includes vital details such as recognition status, student enrollment numbers, teaching staff count, employee information, physical resources, facilities provided to students, and the type of education offered, is essential for the government to gauge the educational landscape in the region.

Dr. Vinay Kumar, the Basic Education Officer, has given a strict deadline of two days for the educational institutions to submit the required information. Failure to comply within the given timeframe will result in the termination of their UDISE code, leading to the loss of financial assistance from the government.

By uploading this data, the Education Department will be able to identify which madrasas are officially recognized by the Basic Education Department and gain insights into the classes they offer, as well as the type of education being provided. Furthermore, the government and administration allocate financial assistance based on the information uploaded to the portal, benefiting numerous madrasas and schools.

Each educational institution, whether a madrasa or a school affiliated with CBSE or ICSE, is assigned a Unique Device Code, which determines its recognition status. The UDISE portal serves as a repository for various details regarding the institution, including the number of teachers, staff members, and physical resources. This information is made accessible to the government and relevant authorities for review and assessment purposes.
