During a recent inspection, authorities discovered insects in the flour used for mid-day meals at Ganeshpur Primary School in Kalan tehsil. Consequently, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Ranvijay Singh took action, issuing a notice to the school’s teachers. Singh personally visited the school on Saturday to address the concerning findings.
Despite the government’s provision of a gas cylinder and stove, the school was still using a fireplace for cooking purposes, which was noted during the inspection. Upon closer examination of the ingredients used for preparing the mid-day meal, insects were found present in the flour.
Expressing the gravity of the situation, Singh emphasized the need for corrective action by issuing a formal notice to the teachers. He warned of strict consequences for those found responsible for the oversight.
In addition to the issues identified at Ganeshpur Primary School, Singh’s inspection revealed discrepancies in other educational institutions. Out of the six schools visited, three had teachers who were absent during school hours. Moreover, the number of students present in these schools was significantly lower than the enrolled count.
Furthermore, the implementation of digital attendance, a crucial aspect of maintaining transparency and accountability, was found to be lacking in most of the schools inspected. Recognizing the severity of these issues, Singh announced the formation of a committee to investigate the lapses thoroughly.
Based on the committee’s findings, appropriate legal action will be taken against the teachers found culpable of negligence or misconduct. This comprehensive approach underscores the authorities’ commitment to ensuring the integrity and quality of education in the region.
