Despite the statement by NCERT Chairman Dinesh Saklani that no final decision has been reached regarding the panel’s recommendations, Minister Rawat has instructed Vandana Garbyal, the director of the State Educational and Training Institute, to proceed with implementing these recommendations in the state’s textbooks.
Rawat further explained that the state government had already made the decision to integrate the Indian Knowledge System into the school curriculum, in alignment with the provisions of the National Education Policy-2020. As part of this initiative, a book titled ‘Hamari Virasat’ will be incorporated into the curriculum, initially targeting classes 6th to 8th. To facilitate this, a five-member committee, chaired by Garbyal, has been established to compile the book.
