Overview

Varin International School, Tumkur is a co-educational residential school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. Established in 2006, it is a part of Pearson Schools, the fastest growing chain of schools in India promoted by the world’s leading learning company, Pearson. The 15 acres of vast campus provides educational and residential facilities to its students.  

Campus

The 15-acre Varin International School campus hosts multimedia enabled classrooms equipped with Digi Class Solutions. It houses well equipped laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology and also offers well-equipped computer and math labs.

The well-stocked school library is furnished with books, periodicals, newspapers, journals, magazines, fiction, reference books and volumes of encyclopedias. Sports facilities include skating, karate, table tennis, volleyball, cricket pitch, basketball and throw ball.

Academics

The school is affiliated with the CISCE board and offers the following programmes –

1. Pre-primary – The curriculum for this section is a blend of Kindergarten, Montessori, Reggio Emilio and Waldorf approaches of education. The teaching methodology incorporates creative play, social interaction and reading programmes.

2. Primary – The primary section comprises classes I to IV. At this level, emphasis is laid on mathematics and science. Special fitness programme, circle time, different clubs and forums are conducted for the students for their holistic development.

3. Middle school – Middle School comprises grades V and VI and at this stage, emphasis is laid on subjects such as maths, science, worksheets, grammar, written expression, computer education. The school promotes use of Digi Class and different clubs, forums and events such as 15 books campaign, Yardstick, etc.

4. Secondary School – The Secondary School comprises grades VI to X. At this stage, the curriculum solely stresses on independent learning along with project based methods of learning. Subjects offered include maths, science, worksheets, grammar, written expression and computer education, with use of Digi Class. The school also organises different clubs, forums and events such as 15 books campaignand Yardstick for its students.

Admission

Parents wishing to admit their wards to Varin International School should follow the following procedure:

a. Arrange a visit to the school by setting an appointment with the admissions office

b. Request for registration form from the school office

c. Submit filled form along with necessary attachments as mentioned below

Age Criteria

a. Minimum age limit for Nursery is 2 years and 6 months as on May 31 of the year of admission.

b. Minimum age limit for class I is 5 years and 6 months as on May 31 of the year of admission.

Documents required:

a. Filled up registration form

b. Copy of birth certificate

c. Transfer certificate, progress sheet of the last examination taken

d. Two passport size photographs of the child
