Seed International, OMBR Layout, Bangalore started in 2009 as a franchise centre of the SEED chain of preschools founded by Jaya Sastri in 2004 with a mission to provide a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment for children. The preschool curriculum is based on Swiss developmental psychologist and philosopher, Jean Piaget’s theory of Ages and Stages of Development which believes that children learn best through active, hands-on exploration. The preschool curriculum encourages a child’s growth and development in social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive spheres and facilitates exploration in a stimulating environment. Lessons are planned and structured for each day to meet each child’s developmental needs. The SEED curriculum integrates the best practices from international educational approaches such as the High Scope’s Early Childhood with practices followed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) boards to ensure the children are ready to face CISCE and CBSE curriculum when they move on to first standard in other schools. The curriculum is formulated to encourage exploration, experimentation, and discovery among children and families, promote action, interaction, support independence and accommodate each child’s special needs to adapt to new interests and skill levels.
