Campus

The IVRI campus is spread over an area of 758.614 acres and houses the National Library of Veterinary Sciences stocked with a collection of more than 2,50,000 highly specialised reading material in the form of books, journals, monographs, theses, reference works published data, bulletins, reviews, advances, reports, reprints, micro-documents etc., subscription to 125 foreign journals and 103 Indian journals each year, animal and fodder farms, dispensary and health centre, computer centre, communication centre which is facility for photography, art, reprography, printing, publication, information and media coverage. The campus also hosts hostels, mess, bank and post office facilities and spacious play grounds for outdoor games like cricket, hockey, volley ball, badminton and various other athletic events along with facilities for indoor games in each hostel.

Admission

MVSc Admission to MVSc programme is on the basis of all India Competitive Examination conducted by the Education Division, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. All candidates including sponsored (in-service) must appear for the written examination. PhD 5 percent seats for Doctoral Programmes, including sponsored seats are filled on the basis of all India Entrance Examination conducted by the institute and remaining 25 percent seats (subject to atleast one seat for each discipline) are filled up on the basis of All India Competitive Examinations for award of ICAR’s Senior Research Fellowship [AICE-SRF {PGS}] conducted by Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi. Candidates seeking admission to PhD programme must hold MVSc degree in the concerned discipline as with a minimum CGPA 6.50/10.00 scale, 3.25/5.00 scale, 2.60/4.00 scale for General and OBC categories and 5.50/10.00 scale, 2.75/5.00 scale, 2.20/4.00 scale for SC/ST/Physically challenged/ Sponsored candidates, respectively from any recognised university in India or where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured atleast 60 percent marks for General/OBC category. For SC/ST/Physically challenged/Sponsored category candidates, the minimum percentage of marks is 50 percent.
