Overview

Indus Altum International School, Belagavi was promoted in 2020 as a collaborative venture of the highly reputed Indus International Schools and Altum Trust, Belagavi.

With the objective of preparing the students to be startup ready, the school aspires to nurture “lifelong learners who would discover their purpose and meaning of life and consistently learn, unlearn, and relearn”.

Drawing upon the Indus International Group’s expertise in preparing the youth for a volatile, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguous (VUCA) world and driven by the Altum Trust’s vision of making quality international education accessible in the educationally underserved North Karnataka region, the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), UK affiliated K-12 institution provides an ideal environment for young leaders to grow, be creative and culturally sensitive yet international-minded. Moreover, the school’s highly qualified and Cambridge certified teachers recruited from across the country, believe in teaching the child and not the subject alone.

Indus Altum is helmed by a stellar leadership team led by Lt. General Arjun Ray, PVSM, VSM (Retd.) founder-CEO & MD, Indus Trust and Akkamahadevi Melligeri, chairperson – school board, Altum Trust. The board members of the school include Aravind Melligeri, chairman and CEO of Aequs Inc., who is a strong advocate of promoting an entrepreneurial mindset, and Rajeev Kaul, MD, and CEO of Aequs Aerospace, a distinguished business strategist.

Campus

The school’s aesthetically landscaped 17-acre campus hosts world-class infrastructure with academic blocks, residential centres, integrated sports complex, state-of- the-art resource centre, and modern labs. The wi-fi enabled campus also houses a one-of-its-kind astronomical observatory to “extend the student’s imagination into space”.

All the 24 classrooms are ICT-enabled and the library is stocked with both print and digital reading and reference resources.

Spacious art rooms for painting, clay modeling and sculpting and well-equipped music rooms for Indian and western music lessons serve as ideal spaces to nurture students’ artistic talents. The campus also hosts an infirmary staffed with a doctor and nurses. An ambulance is available on-call.

Academics

The CAIE affiliated K-12 Indus Altum International School emphasises on in-depth subject knowledge alongside development of skills for application in the future. The school values deep subject knowledge as well as the conceptual understanding that helps students make links between different aspects of a subject. The school also encourages students to develop higher order thinking skills – problem solving, critical thinking, independent research, collaboration and presenting arguments. It believes these transferable skills that last a lifetime, not only prepare students for their future but also make learning enjoyable and rewarding.

The immersive Community Service Program, specialised innovation curriculum focused on Design Thinking, Green Eagles initiative aimed at making students climate change leaders, the Astro Science curriculum, one-of-a-kind astronomical observatory and Life Hacks Club aimed at imparting life skills all contribute towards ensuring a holistic learning experience for the students.

Sports & Co-curricular education

At Indus Altum, learning truly extends beyond the classroom. The school’s rich sports and co-curricular education menu offers students a plethora of interests and activities to engage in including the innovation curriculum, climate change projects, Astro Science curriculum, community service programme, arts, dance, music, Life Hacks Club and several sports.
