Overview

JK Public School is the first public school in Jammu located in Kunjwani, Jammu & Kashmir. Founded in 1995, the school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school boasts 2000 students from Kindergarten to class XII. With a rich and innovative curriculum, the school is committed to provide education that meets the needs of children of all abilities and to create a caring environment built on honesty and respect for one another. The school aims to provide the best possible human and physical resources to support learning and teaching.

Campus

The JK Public School campus is sited amidst verdant surroundings facilitating an ideal learning environment for the children. The school building conforms to the specifications laid down by the UNESCO. The Administrative Block comprises a well maintained Soiree, offices, Counsellor’s Cell and M.I. Room. To ensure uninterrupted power supply for the efficient working of the school, there are 3 generator sets for power back-up. All the wings are fitted with sufficient water coolers and aqua guards to provide safe drinking water.

The school hosts 60 airy and sunlit classrooms, spacious modern science laboratories, a huge library with reading rooms, a common room, a music room and a multipurpose hall. There is a stadium for outdoor games and a hall for Yoga, Judo, Aerobics and Gymnastics. Besides these, there is an air-conditioned amphitheatre fully equipped with audio-visual system, with a seating capacity of 1200. There is also a skating rink which adheres to the specifications of national standard.

Academics

JK Public school is a co-educational English medium school affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi and offers education from Kindergarten to Class XII. For toddlers and class I-V students, there are no formal tests. Students are assessed twice a year on the basis of their daily performance and day to day progress. For classes VI-X, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) assessment is followed on the basis of formative (continous) and summative (formal) assessments.

Co-Curricular:

In JK Public School, co-curricular activities form an integral part of curriculum in order to promote balanced and healthy development of the child. Activities include Music, Dance, Art & Craft, Literary events and Drama. The school also encourages sports activities and physical training.
