Overview

Established in 2003, Sanskriti The Gurukul (STG), Guwahati is an English medium coeducational day boarding school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. STG boasts 962 students from pre-primary level through class XII, and 110 teachers.

STG’s mission is to provide all students with the knowledge base that will enable them to become lifelong learners and responsible, contributing citizens in a rapidly changing and complex society through teaching, learning, sharing and caring by imparting effective communication, comprehension, creative thinking and computer usage skills.

Campus

The 3.7 acre school campus hosts study centres equipped with state of the art ICT infrastructure with smart boards and short throw projectors, well-equipped laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology, and well-stocked library.

Sports facilities include swimming pool, lawn tennis, basketball, volley ball, 3 badminton courts, Yoga Pavilion, taekwondo arena, an aerobic centre, TT tables, carom boards, and chess tables.

Other facilities include 3 bed infirmary with a trained and experienced nurse and a dining hall with a capacity to accommodate 300 students.

Academics

Affiliated with CISCE, STG imparts education from pre-primary level through class XII.

STG believes in regular innovations and follows Experiential and Exploratory methods for Science & Maths, story telling and recreating the scenes, stories in English. Introduction to Coding, Python & Ubuntu is offered from class VI onwards.

STG maintains teacher student ratio between 1:8 to 1:10.

General Information

Admission

Pre-primary (Toddlers & Budding Hive) – Personal interview and admission test are not required for admission in pre-primary classes. Preference is given as follows: Girl Child, Single Mother Child, Vicinity to school – Radius of 5 km, Educators’ children, Siblings of existing students.

Classes I onwards: Admission test and personal interview is conducted on the 3rd Saturday of November every year, depending on the seats available. Students are selected on the basis of Test Performance (weightage of 50 percent), Conversation skills (20 percent), Reading skills (15 percent), confidence and ability to present himself or herself (15 percent).

Classes IX to XII – Based solely on performance in the admission test.

Admission forms need to be submitted by November 15 every year.

Achievement

STG is an ISO 9001:2008 certified school and a two time recipient of the ISA award from the British Council.

Accommodation

Being a day school, STG Guwahati does not provide accommodation facility.
