The Bangalore School of Music was established in 1987 with the aim of promoting a deeper understanding and appreciation for music. Music, to the institute is a commitment which helps to instil discipline and confidence. The BSM has a unique 360 degree approach to music development, comprising of music education, music promotion via concerts, festivals, and seminars etc., music outreach for the underprivileged & festivals and audience development. The BSM attracts students of all ages and experiences; some beginners and others professionals who wish to take their music to higher levels.

Courses offered: At the BSM a wide range of musical instruments are taught from wind instruments, such as; clarinet, oboe, flute, recorder, saxophone and trumpet, to string and key instruments such as; guitar, viola, violin, cello, piano and keyboard. Choral and vocal classes are also held at the school.
The main areas of teachings are Classical and western music. Students are trained for the Trinity College & Royal Schools of Music, London Boards & Progressive Music Examinations. A dedicated group of 30 teachers train over 500 young people each year. Fees: Differ in accordance with the musical instrument taken up.
