CBSE announces class 12 results 2019, 83.4% pass

The Delhi-based Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the country’s largest school-leaving examination board, released its Class 12 results 2019 for all regions on Thursday. Results are available on cbse.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in

Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora topped the exams with 499 marks out of 500. Thiruvananthapuram clocked the highest pass percentage with 98.2%, followed by Chennai (92.93%) and Delhi (91.87%). The national average is 83.4%.

Government owned Kendriya Vidyalayas have a pass percentage of 98.54, Tibetan schools 96%, government aided 88% and private schools 82.59%. Girls outperformed boys by 9%. Around 83% transgenders who wrote the exam passed.

The CBSE Board exams were held till April 4, 2019 for both regular and private students. A total of 31,14,821 students had registered for both Class 10 and Class 12 CBSE Board exams this year which includes 28 transgender candidates.
