City Montessori School (CMS) Aliganj Campus I, Lucknow is a co-educational English medium day school offering classes from pre primary to class XII. Promoted in 1959 by Dr. Jagdish Gandhi and Dr. Bharati Gandhi, the CMS Group of schools was founded on the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and Sant Vinoba Bhave. The school is affiliated with the Council for the Indian school Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.

The school strives to impart comprehensive high quality education, laying emphasis on the importance of hard and smart work through holistic teaching methods, thus inspiring each student to develop as committed leaders of tomorrow with rational thinking and pragmatic approach.

Campus

City Montessori School, Aliganj Campus I hosts 21 well lit and well ventilated classrooms of which 3 have Smart Class facilities with digital white boards for better learning experience. The school houses a well stocked library featuring a wide range of books, an assembly hall, well equipped laboratories for subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology and computers, a large play ground and an Olympic size swimming pool.

Academics

Affiliated with CISCE, New Delhi, CMS Aliganj Campus I offers schooling from pre-primary level through class XII.

No examinations are conducted for pre-primary to class II level to ensure a stress free environment for learning. At pre primary and primary level, the school follows independent learning techniques concentrating on a child’s personal, social, emotional moral, intellectual, physical and creative development. At junior level, the school focuses on intellectual learning along with practical methods through the best possible pedagogic techniques. At the senior level, stress is laid on improving a child’s English language skills, character building skills and his/her performance in the board examinations. The school offers science and commerce streams at the higher secondary level.

Students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities such as cultural events, model class presentations, dramatics, gardening, social work, music, dance, painting, photography, tailoring, interior decoration and public speaking. The school also organises various international events such as International Children’s Film Festival, International School to School Exchange, Indo Pak Friendship Initiative, Geography Olympiad, Common Wealth Youth Co to instill a sense responsibility and confidence in students. The school hosts international festival of music and dance ‘Celesta’ to promote cross cultural interaction between students from different countries.

Sporting activities include swimming, athletics, basketball, football and cricket.

The admission form can be downloaded from the link below. The duly filled in admission form needs to be submitted at the school office along with cash or Demand Draft of Rs. 250/- in favour of “City Montessori School” payable at “Lucknow”.
