The Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi is an English medium girls’ day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
Situated at Bangla Sahib Marg in New Delhi, the school was founded in 1919 by the order of the Religious of Jesus and Mary, a Roman Catholic congregation from France. Today, it is one of a network of Convents of Jesus and Mary in India and the UK.
The school has provision for the 10+2 scheme of education with approved facilities for the academic stream from KG to XII. The academic year extends from April to March of the following year and is divided into two terms. An extensive range of co-curricular and educational activities is integrated to provide holistic development and build tomorrow’s leaders.
The school offers well-ventilated classrooms, three science labs- one each for physics, chemistry and biology, computer labs for junior and senior level students, a music room, an art room and a craft room. There are separate libraries for the junior and senior students. The school also houses three halls: the Dina hall, the Thevenet hall and the Claudine hall.
Sports facilities include a basketball court, table tennis room, a gymnasium and children’s park.
The school is affiliated with CBSE and offers education from nursery to class XII. Value education is an intrinsic part of the curriculum.
Technology is extensively used in teaching, and students are encouraged to understand concepts and relate them to real life.
Extracurricular
Students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities such as Hindustani and Western music, art & craft, debate, quiz, elocution and essay writing.
Physical training, games and sports are compulsory activities. Coaching is provided in table tennis, basketball, throwball, lawn tennis, volleyball, badminton, yoga, karate and gymnastics. Students also actively participate in various clubs such as the language club, peace club, community service club and disaster management club.
