In light of ongoing traffic restrictions in Delhi, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a comprehensive advisory on Wednesday for students preparing to take the upcoming board exams. The advisory specifically addresses the potential challenges posed by the ongoing farmers’ “Delhi Chalo” march, which has led to increased traffic constraints in the national capital.
The advisory, which comes ahead of the commencement of board exams for Classes 10 and 12 starting Thursday, extends its guidance to more than 39 lakh students across India and 26 other countries. In Delhi alone, where more than 5.8 lakh students are expected to take the exams across 877 centers, the CBSE is urging students to factor in the current situation and make necessary arrangements to ensure timely arrival at their examination centers.
The CBSE advisory stresses the importance of students reaching their examination centers on or before 10 am, as the exams kick off at 10:30 am. Given the potential traffic challenges, the advisory recommends leaving home early and suggests the use of metro services, which are reported to be operating smoothly.
The directive not only provides guidance to students but also requests the cooperation of all schools, urging them to assist and guide parents and students through this period. It further emphasizes the need for proactive planning by students, considering local conditions, traffic patterns, weather conditions, and other factors that may impact travel time.
In a bid to maintain the integrity of the examination process, the CBSE advisory highlights that students will only be allowed entry to examination centers until 10 am, emphasizing the importance of punctuality during these challenging circumstances. The CBSE advisory concludes by advising students to visit their examination centers in advance, formulate a well-thought-out travel plan, and ensure timely arrivals on all examination days.
