Delhi: Officials strive for inclusive, quality education for all

Delhi envisions becoming a knowledge hub, offering inclusive and high-quality education tailored to the diverse needs of individuals in an excellent educational setting, officials stated on Thursday.

According to officials, the Delhi government aims to increase the total public expenditure on education as a percentage of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) from 1.7 in 2023 to 2 in 2027.

The data also indicates an anticipated rise in the gross enrollment ratio, from 48 in 2023 to 70 in 2047 in higher education. Additionally, the intake capacity in higher education institutions is projected to grow from 61,600 in 2023 to 75,152 in 2027 and further to 2,09,375 by 2047.

Officials outlined plans for an increase in the intake capacity of industrial training institutions, from 11,336 in 2023 to 14,211 in 2027, reaching 44,000 by 2047. Furthermore, the number of start-ups is expected to surge from 228 in 2023 to 797 in 2027.
