EducationWorld Grand Jury Awards 2018

EducationWorld October 2018 | EducationWorld Special Report

The EducationWorld Grand Jury Awards were introduced in 2016 to acknowledge and celebrate schools — especially low-profile and newly promoted institutions — which excelled in parameters of K-12 education excellence over and above the 14 parameters assessed in the annual EW India School Rankings survey. In its third year, a specially constituted jury of knowledgeable educationists conferred the EW Grand Jury Awards 2018-19 upon 65 schools in 11 carefully selected categories.

As in the previous years, to select newly promoted/low-profile/progressive schools across the country, we invited nominations from educationists, individuals and schools themselves supported by evidence of best practices in 11 categories such as green schools, STEAM education, new technologies usage, campus architecture, among others.
Evidence-supported nominations were received from 700 schools countrywide. To assess the evidence and rank nominated schools in each category, this year’s Grand Jury comprising eminent educationists Shomie Das, celebrated former principal of Lawrence, Sanawar and The Doon School, Dehradun; Fatema Agarkar, co-founder of KA EduAssociates, Mumbai; Rohit Mahindra, director of the Mumbai-based Raj Mohindra Consultants Pvt. Ltd, Meeta Sengupta, educationist and senior advisor Centre for Civil Society, Delhi; Damodar Goyal, president of the Society for Unaided Private Schools of Rajasthan, Jaipur and celebrated Delhi-based architect Kalhan Mattoo, was constituted.

The Grand Jury duly evaluated the nominations to rank the Top 10 schools in each category. Of them, the Top 5 were conferred awards at the EW India School Rankings Awards 2018-19 function on September 28. The complete Top 10 EW Grand Jury Rankings 2018-19 are published below.
