Started in 1984 with 60 students and just one course on production engineering, Father Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering (Fr. CRCE), sited at Bandra West in Mumbai, is an un-aided, minority, non-autonomous institute. Also known as Fr. Agnel Bandra the institute is accredited by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with the University of Mumbai.
The institute is named after the late Rev. Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues. Under the inspiration of its founder, the Agnel Fathers (the trustees of the Society of St. Francis Xavier, Pilar) also founded technical education facilities in Bandra (Mumbai), Vashi (Navi Mumbai), Verna (Goa), New Delhi, Noida, Pune, and Ambarnath (Thane).
Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra State (DTE) awarded an “A” grade to the college.

The college is associated with a number of prestigious institutes, forums and associations like the ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education), CSI (Computer Society of India), IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), ISME (Indian Society of Manufacturing Engineers), IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre) with funding from Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The college also has association with MHRD initiated e-yantra project for development of Robotics and Embedded Systems, academic alliance with Microsoft for the usage of their product range, with Tata Consultancy Services for collaborative training and with IBM for IBM Centre of Excellence and Certification of faculty and students and academic alliance with EMC.
The college offers four flats measuring 3200 Sq.ft at Kalina, Santacruz (East) to provide accommodation to its male students from out of Mumbai/Maharashtra. One of the four flats is the principal’s residence while the other three are occupied by the students. Each flat has three rooms with six students residing in each flat. There are a total of 18 students in the hostel and the hostel fee is Rs.3,500 (only for lodging).
