Gree-day

Green Day celebrated by tiny tots at GGIS

May 4, 2019

On 13th July 2018, Friday tiny tots of Gyan Ganga International School celebrated Green Day with full zeal and enthusiasm. These little angels came in green attire and brought saplings of different plants along with them to plant them in school premises. The aim of this activity was to make the little ones aware about the importance of trees, their conservation and their surroundings. The students brought saplings with them and even learnt the name of the particular plant and their benefits. After planting and potting the saplings they were taken to school auditorium to witness the short documentary based on the topic ‘Save Trees’. Keeping in thought as future generation this noble thought was to be deep rooted in the children.

The day was celebrated with the theme ‘Green World Around Me’. In the same sequence the tiny ones enjoyed art and craft activity by making green color crowns. They enjoyed every bit of the activity as they visited garden area and came across the real experience of plant kingdom. They were delighted to explore different kinds of plants such as shrubs, herbs, flowers and trees. The second phase of this activity included their delicious lunch boxes that contained different foods based on the theme ‘Go Green’.

School Principal appreciated the efforts and hard work done by the kindergarten coordinator and teachers to make these little ones familiar to their surroundings and the most important thing instilling in them the foremost duty of preserving trees.
