October 18, 2023

On October 12, 2023, the School Leaders Summit, IBCP Confluence 2023, organized by the World Academy of Career Programmes (WACP) and International Baccalaureate (IB), took place in New Delhi. This event brought together over 270 school leaders, educators, and industry professionals, and attracted over 500 online viewers from around the world. The focus was on introducing the IB Career-related Programme (CP) and how it can empower schools to prepare their students for success in the ever-evolving workforce.

The IBCP is a globally recognized program tailored for students after Grade 10. This two-year program equips students with the skills and knowledge needed for success in their chosen fields and enhances their competitiveness in the global job market. Notably, the IBCP is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as a Grade 12 qualification and is accepted by numerous universities worldwide for undergraduate degree programs. Several esteemed Indian universities, including Gujarat University, University of Mumbai, Ashoka University, Plaksha University, Manav Rachna University, and IIM Indore, welcome students who have completed the IBCP as Grade 12 qualification holders for their undergraduate degree programs.

During the IBCP Confluence, speakers and panelists emphasized the significance of career-related education and the role of the IBCP in preparing students for the future world of work. Haif Bannayan, Global Director of Business Development, highlighted the transformative power of education through the IB and WACP’s career-related programs, emphasizing their role in fostering critical thinking and flexibility among students.

Manan Choksi, Executive Director – UDGAM School for Children said “The IBCP allows students to discover at an early age what they are passionate about, thus helping them figure out their lives. The IB curriculum is designed to help students become lifelong learners, and it prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of the globalized world. The IB curriculum also focuses on student experience, which makes it a great springboard for their careers”

UDGAM offers the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) for Grades 11 and 12. This program, highly sought after by Grade 10 students, provides an exceptional opportunity for students to learn, explore, and grow through challenging courses and service-oriented events. Initially, the school offers Business Administration and Artificial Intelligence as career fields for the IBCP but remains open to adding more options based on student interests.

The IBCP is revolutionizing education and is gaining traction among schools. With the IBCP, students acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for success in their chosen fields. Elite International School and Apollo International School are also in the IB authorization phase. Many more schools in Gujarat and across India are preparing to offer the IBCP Programme, which is rapidly becoming the go-to program for Grade 11 and 12 students.
